WELCOME TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS OF WAKAW LAKE WEBSITE
POWL (Property Owners of Wakaw Lake) is an organization dedicated to preserving the viability to Wakaw Lake as a natural resource and recreation area

POWL was initiated by a group of five property owners to create an organization to persuade governments to put measures in place to maintain water levels, quality and a healthy lake environment. POWL also intends to play an advocacy role with the School Board particularly, and the municipalities, generally, with respect to issues concerning our membership, particularly property taxation levels.

Benefits of being and/or becoming a Member of the Property Owners of Wakaw Lake (POWL):
  • Knowing that POWL is representing its members, when dealing with variouslevels of government for the betterment of Wakaw Lake.
  • The changes we make, i.e. the weir, will increase all property values around the lake.
  • The POWL website, is an information "vehicle" for all members to keep up to date with issues that affect our lake.
  • With the formation of the Wakaw Lake Watershed Group the lake will be monitored for its health, on a regular basis.
  • As a member you have the ability to become a board member and become involved in the decision-making processes.
  • You will receive a copy of the "On the Living Edge" Handbook
  • The "greatest" benefit ... knowing that you, a member of POWL, are an integral part of the organization that has achieved one of our most important goals, and that is the weir project, so that future generations, our children and grandchildren, will have a healthy and viable lake, now and into the future.

Wakaw Lake Stewardship Group (WLSG)
The WLSG has been meeting the last year and a half with staff from the Municipal Capacity Development Program. Ratepayers and public will be contacted for input.
